Japan Auto Parts Industries Association (JAPIA) was established in August 1969 on the foundations of a predecessor organization created in 1938. Its chief aims are to promote the sound development of the auto parts manufacturing industry and contribute to social and economic welfare.
Today, with their annual turnover in auto parts exceeding 13 trillion yen, JAPIA members are helping to support the automobile industry on a global basis.

Recently JAPIA member manufacturers have placed an urgent priority on a number of issues, including the need for corporate restructuring, that must be satisfactorily addressed in order to ensure the vitality of the industry in the years ahead and its continued contribution to the national economy. On an ongoing basis JAPIA member companies are also responding to challenging social requirements in the areas of vehicle safety and environmental protection, and are doing so increasingly in the context of international cooperation.
