JAPIA implemented the 8th Voluntary Environmental Action Plan as a measure against global warming, successfully reducing CO2 emissions by 13% in 2016 in comparison to 2007. We are also implementing initiatives regarding LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) of automobiles.

At the 14th LCA Japan Forum Awards in FY 2017 (Organized by LCA Japan Forum Supported by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry / Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun Company) “, the LCA subcommittee of the Environment Committee of JAPIA was awarded “ the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Technology Industry Environment Bureau Director's Award”.
The LCA Japan Forum Awards was established in FY 2004 to promote the dissemination and establishment of LCA and to contribute to the development of industry. The "Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Technology Environment Bureau Director’s Award" is awarded to the best among the entered activities.
This time, the award was for research on long-term LCA methodology conducted by the LCA subcommittee, visualization of the effect of reducing environmental burden, standardization of load calculation method and dissemination activity.
